All conditions are temporary. Do not create your sense of self from that which changes. The only thing that does not change is the eternal now.
So, be it.
The time is now...only now.
The truth shall set you free.
We have one job, and one job only...know and be utterly yourself.
Jump and the net will appear...shed that which is untrue or false.
While walking, the following two snippets came to me:
I have a mind
I think I’ll use it
Up ‘til now
What I did was lose it
The second snippet came to me like a fully formed droplet:
I am New York City
I was born on 5th
The 5th of January 61
I am Central Park
It being my birthday, and birthdays always reminding me of time…I have one more thing to say to you:
Rule number one: Do not go to the grave with your music still in you.
Rule Number two: Listen….carefully.
Rule Number three: Never break rule number one and two.
And so a new day begins…
From this point on, it being a new year and all, do not think about pink elephants. I want you to forget about the pink elephants. No more pink elephants! Pink elephants are out; they add nothing…so stop thinking about them and I will make it my life’s mission, from this day forward, to enthusiastically refrain from drawing any further attention to PINK ELEPHANTS, except to say that by dwelling on a thing we don’t want, we attract it to us. The mind cannot “not” think about what it is trying to avoid. If you want to stop thinking about pink elephants, I suggest you draw your attention to the blue pigs that are working wonders just off to the side. Just keep thinking blue pigs, blue pigs. See those blue pigs? Not a pink elephant in sight right… except for that last thought. Whoops.
And so a new year begins…
